Windows 11 IoT Enterprise LTSC is the latest IoT enterprise release from Microsoft. It Offers robust enterprise grade security without the stricter hardware requirements when compared to Windows 11 Home/Pro/Enterprise versions and offers longer support periods with a familiar look and feel to your standard desktop.

As a LTSC (Long term servicing channel) product, you get Enterprise grade security updates Without the not so important feature updates and longer support time frames.

(Support Until 2032 for 2021 Version and 2034 for 2024 Version)

Windows 11 IoT Enterprise LTSC is a lightweight operating system with a familiar look and feel and is perfectly suited for a variety of IoT Devices and apps, such as Bank ATM’s, POS systems, Industrial Machines as well as your standard PC and much more.

User Case:

We had the opportunity to install Windows 11 IoT enterprise LTSC on a old Lenovo G500s Touch Laptop, the installation was quick and fast and the same as installing Pro versions.

After the installation, At first glance. It has the familiar look and feel as a normal Windows desktop as its built on the same codebase as Windows 10/11 so it is natively compatible with the apps you use today. The IoT version lacks Microsoft Store, Xbox app and related features, Lifestyle apps like news, weather, finance etc.

Microsoft Edge Browser comes pre-installed, we where also able to install google chrome, AVG Security and Browser, Microsoft Teams and Office 2024 Professional Plus LTSC.

Unfortunately we could not install Whatsapp desktop application as this required Microsoft Store.

Summary:

Windows 11 IoT Enterprise LTSC is great choice if  you have an older PC that is mainly used for business related usage and requires long term enterprise grade security and basic operational features and/or IoT apps, its not meant to replace everyday computing. Its best to research properly or try the Free 3 month evaluation before purchasing to ensure its the right fit for you.

You will receive 1 key which will allow activation on 20 devices

No Physical product will be sent, you will receive an activation key along with download link and instructions.

Please note, this key cannot be used to activate a currently running 90 day evaluation. You can use the key after the evaluation has ended in order to activate it.

While you will receive critical security updates for the lifecycle of the chosen version there are no automatic upgrades for specific versions, to upgrade from one version to another (Eg 2021 to 2024) requires the purchase of a new key.

In-place upgrades are not possible from other versions (Win 10/11 Home/Pro/Enterprise) and A fresh installation will be required to install IoT version.
